Deutsche Bank announces the appointment of Tim Jordan to Environment, Social and Governance research team

Deutsche Bank is pleased to announce that Tim Jordan has joined Deutsche Bank’s Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) research team. Tim is uniquely qualified to fulfill this role, having spent the past two years working as Senior Adviser to the Minister for Climate Change and Water, Senator Penny Wong.

Prior to this, Jordan was an adviser to then Shadow Treasurer Wayne Swan, where he provided advice on economic policy. As a qualified lawyer, Jordan also worked for Baker & McKenzie where he provided legal and policy advice in international carbon and renewable energy law for global financial institutions and corporate clients. He also advised various Australian companies on emissions trading policy, renewable energy law and emissions reporting.

Michael Ormaechea, Head of Global Markets at Deutsche Bank said, “ESG is rapidly gaining importance with our clients, with many specifically asking for our view on the carbon and renewable energy industry. Tim’s appointment reflects the strong and growing demand for ESG in the Australian market and will position us well to take another step up in our ESG business. ”

Tim King, Head of Research at Deutsche Bank said “Tim’s experience in carbon and renewable energy is a distinct advantage to the ESG team. He has a solid understanding of the industry and we’re confident our clients will benefit from his extensive knowledge and insights. We are very much looking forward to having him on board”.

Deutsche Bank’s ESG research team was one of the first in Australia to assess the valuation impact of the proposed CPRS legislation on Australian companies.
